Launch of a powerful new strategic alliance between Chloride and Idatech Fuel Cell technology specialists.  The new partnership will allow Fuel Cell backup power solutions, integrated with Chloride UPS, to be marketed and sold throughout Europe and North Africa.

One of the first countries to benefit from this important venture is France, where a leading data centre design specialist has installed a Chloride PowerRack UPS, together with Idatech’s Fuel Cell Technology, in order to efficiently secure and manage one of their data centers.

The ElectraGen 3 has been installed in place of the usual batteries or generator that would normally provide the back up power source.  Hydrogen will be converted into electricity with water being the only emission.  This will provide a completely “green” power solution, whilst also giving longer autonomy times and lower costs.  This arrangement is perfectly adapt for those customers who do not have the capacity to accommodate large battery and Diesel Genset installations as the module can also be installed outdoors.

“We are very pleased with the design of Power Solution that was installed.  It is particularly adapt to the needs of the company and the environment in which it had to be placed.  This is a great start to the new partnership between Chloride and Idatech.  We are proud to see France as the first to benefit from this new global partnership.”

Both Chloride and Idatech feel that this new alliance will increase their competitive edge and offer customers a broader, more environmentally friendly range of power solutions.  They are confident that their existing synergies will allow them to provide more enhanced quality products and services.  President of Chloride’s UPS Business Division, Lamberto Tassara declared, “This strategic alliance is of great importance to us as Idatech is an innovative and successful company within the fuel cell market.  It is the first fuel cell company to float on the London Stock Exchange and is moving forward in the power protection market at a great speed.  We are sure that this new partnership will allow us to further compliment our range of power solutions that we can promote and install on a global basis.”
